It’s finally here! The (for all intents and purposes) finale of Fruits Basket’s first season! During this amazing episode, one of Kyo’s deepest and darkest secrets (you’d better believe that there’s more), his true cat form, was forcibly dragged out into the open for all to see. And, despite its disgusting smell and appearance, and Kyo’s attempts at pushing her away, Tohru is able to accept him and convince him to come home. Hello, everybody! Let me apologise in advance for the brevity of today’s blog post. It’s the day after my 14-hour journey from the US to the UK and I am incredibly jetlagged! It feels like somebody has scooped out my brain and replaced it with marshmallow (conditions not conducive to producing quality content). Though we don’t get Hana-chan’s full backstory until muuuch later on in the manga (several volumes ahead of the material that’s currently being adapted), I, for one, am more than happy to be getting another Hana-centric episode so soon! This week’s episode of Fruits Basket brought me so much joy. In part, because it was gut-bustingly funny, but mostly because it gives me an excuse to write about Furuba’s low-key best character, Hana-chan. But, before I wax lyrical over Hana’s many merits, let me first touch upon two other things…
