This year I made it a priority to finally get myself caught up on some of the biggest, most popular ongoing anime franchises. This has included the latest entries into the Food Wars!, Haikyuu!!, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Legend of the Galactic Heroes (LoGH), Made in Abyss, and My Hero Academia franchises. This has been a pretty big undertaking (especially in regards to LoGH), but one that I’ve had a lot of fun doing!
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Imagine this: you’ve just started working, living, or studying someplace new and you learn that your colleague/neighbour/classmate, like you, loves anime. Great, you think, we have something in common! Based on this common interest, as well as other important factors (like them actually being a decent person), you soon become firm friends. Heck, maybe you even start dating! But as you get to know them better, you learn that *gasp* their taste in anime is terrible. We’ve all been there! Below is a handy guide on how to navigate these rocky waters without shipwrecking your blossoming friendship.
A big thanks to KimchiSama for tagging me in this! We haven’t known each other for very long, but I’ve loved being able to challenge one another! The aniblogging community is pretty massive, which means that it can be a bit daunting for newcomers like me to put myself out there and get to know other people, but you’ve helped me to feel welcome and included, so thanks!
If you’re new to the one liner challenge, its rules are as follows:
- Accept and thank your challenger(s) by linking back to their post.
- Make a post of one-sentence summaries and/or roasts of at least five books/anime
- No spoilers!
- Link back to The Awkward Book Blogger so she can see your post.
- Challenge as many or as little people as you want!
- Have fun!
Fall, or autumn, for my fellow Brits, is almost upon us! But what’s even more exciting than the thought of cool weather, back to school shopping (what? That’s exciting, right?), and pumpkin spice everything is that we’re due yet another promising season of anime! As with my last season preview I will list the shows that I’ve chosen to watch. These will be divided into three categories: continuing from the last season (so, summer), sequels, and standalones. Based on my research (which involves pouring through reviews, news articles, and source materials) I’ll briefly discuss what it was about these shows that appealed to me. I hope that this will help you decide what to watch yourself!
#10 What anime has your favourite fight scenes?
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (parts 1-4)
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure’s fight scenes aren’t as clever as Code Geass’s or Fate/Zero’s, as good-looking as Attack on Titan’s or Naruto’s, or as emotionally charged as Neon Genesis Evangelion’s. They don’t even have the most at stake – Team Gurren had the fate of the whole galaxy riding on the outcome of their final battle! So why have I chosen Jojo above all of these other shows? Because its fight scenes are definitely the most fun!
