I’ve changed a lot over the years. I recently wrote about how maternal I was becoming. I suppose that growing more sentimental goes hand in hand with that! I used to hate cutesy, romantic fluff. As far as I was concerned, it just got in the way of the good stuff (if you know what I mean)… In fact, one of my very first posts on WWB (waaay back in 2012 – dear God, don’t try to find it) was on that very subject. But, over time, as sex dwindled in importance to love, friendship, and commitment, I’ve slowly come to love fluff! This is reflected in the anime I loved most this year.
My Love Story!!
This one’s a toughie because there isn’t really an anime I wish never ended. This applies to even my favourite shows, like Blood+, Naruto, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I love these shows to the moon and back, but I’m still glad that they ended (eventually). Why? Well…
I may be only seven episodes into My Love Story!! but those seven episodes were more than enough to propel Takeo Gouda straight to the very tippy top of the list of my favourite romcom heroes, before Toradora’s Ryuuji, Clannad’s Tomoya, or even Ouran High School Host Club’s Tamaki (whose reign as my favourite romcom hero has gone unchallenged for a whole 10 years)!
Oh, man. This is a difficult one for a couple of reasons… The first reason being that there are actually a lot of anime that I want to watch, but haven’t yet. The second being that among these anime there aren’t any that I feel a burning need to watch over any of the others. So can I cheat a bit and list them? Please?
