Sorry guys, I know it’s been a while since I did one of these, but life has been most unforgiving recently. I’ve had friends to appease, reports to write, temperamental technology to whip into shape, etcetera, etcetera… But long story short, I’m back! For the time being…
Several months back I found myself down on my luck and living out of a suitcase. Lucky for me a very good friend of mine took me in, all she asked in return is that I gave her latest obsession, My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, a chance, having previously put off watching it simply because, eurgh, did I really want to count myself a ‘brony’ on top of a die-hard fujoshi!? However, since having watched the first series, I have come to see the light- the show definitely has its charms, and now that I’ve been consistently negative for almost a month now in my reviews and editorials, now seems a good time to share what those charms in question are with the rest of you guys!
Oh my daaays, I’d almost forgotten just how much effort putting together a previews post took! This has taken me well over a month to put together- not only did I struggle to condense what I wrote, I also struggled to find sufficient information on a lot of shows (I’m looking at you PSYCHO-PASS, Litchi Hikari Club and K!!) But it all came together in the end. I hope I’ve done a good enough job to help inform and aid in any of you guys’ decisions as to what to watch! Though I have to say, if like me you restrict yourself to only a small portion of shows every season, you’re going to have a tough time deciding what to watch regardless of whether or not you read my previews! There are quite a few really promising looking shows coming out…
As with my last preview I’m excluding remakes and sequels- I try to avoid parading my ignorance when I can help it…
I’m writing this mostly for the benefit of my younger sister. Every season we both select shows we’d like to watch, aiming to cover as many of them between us as possible, but every season we end up picking one of two shows that are the same, Uta Koi is one such show. Now, apparently, sister’s not enjoying Uta Koi, whereas I, on the other hand, am enjoying it the most out of all the shows I decided to watch, so I thought I’d write a short essay stating why she should enjoy it to the extent I do, because I’m one of those annoying people who like to force their opinions (in regards to anime) on to others, but hey, it’s my blog, if I can’t express myself here, then there’s something deeply wrong! And hey, if I manage to convince some of you guys not too buzzed about the show that it’s the bees knees also, that’s just swell!
Heh, that hour long finale must have taken me at least two hours to watch- I was furiously scribbling notes on it the entire time, pausing every so often to run upstairs and yell at my bewildered sister about something that just happened on screen. Ah, what a finale it was! It was by no means perfect, but it was pretty darn close, and many of the issues I had with it are personal or minor ones, so feel free to, like my sister, accuse me of nit-picking after reading this post if you so desire!
