Was anyone at the London MCM Expo this weekend? Man, it was like Hell on Earth being surrounded by that many people, in that heat, in an outfit that slowly suffocated my skin… The things I do for this hobby… Whatever, it was worth it to buy the complete collection of Soranowoto and Tatami Galaxy on DVD for just £25 and to see my little bro’ in a Naruto outfit!
Anyway, on to the real topic of this post…
Sorry guys, can’t put this off any longer, I’m going to have to go on hiatus!
So yeah, decided to take part in Trzr23’s Remembering Love project on the spur of the moment ‘cause, you know, making last-minute, spontaneous decisions which will result in me having even less time to spare is kind of my schtick! But, I guess, looking at it in a more positive light, re-watching some old favourites will give me a chance to wind down from this CONSTANT PRESSURE I’m placing myself under now that my exams are just around the corner so, eh…
Thought I’d start off writing about a classic, Death Note.
After last week’s brilliant opening episode I wasn’t sure how this week’s would be able to meet the expectations I had of it but, I needn’t have worried because this episode was also pretty outstanding! It followed on from the theme of Urabe deconstructing Tsubaki’s more traditional concepts of love and what being in a relationship is all about but, as par in Nazo no Kanojo, in a pretty unusual, strangely tender way.
So, this marks my first foray into episodic blogging. Scary stuff. I don’t know how far I’ll be able to provide deep philosophical insights into each episode I blog, or whatever it is you guys usually look for in episodic blog posts, as I tend to be quite oblivious to hidden messages. I’m just gonna do what comes natural. I’m sure everything’ll all slot into place once I gain a little bit of experience!
OK, OK, I know I wrote a season preview and all which does kinda make a post like this obsolete but, there’ve been quite a few developments since then that have thrown a wrench in my plans which I thought I’d share with you guys.
