2018 was a year chock-full of pleasant surprises! Miraculously (given how busy I’ve been), I managed to find the time to watch approximately 80 anime. Of this number, the shows that I enjoyed the most were often the ones that surprised me the most.

Following last week’s blog post on anime fans being angry people, here’s a list of the times when anime has made me angry. I promise not to resort to cursing or making threats while writing this! Spoilers for Naruto/Naruto Shippuuden and Blood-C.
In order to celebrate Halloween, I thought I’d write up a Halloween-themed post, namely, what is it that makes a good horror anime? The horror genre of anime used to be my favourite genre of all the animus, but over time, after having been frequently let down by it, that has since changed. Though this isn’t something I can really blame producers for- it must be unbelievably difficult to create a good horror anime when, to start with, fear is subjective, but I believe, in spite of this, there are a few trusty guidelines all horror anime should adhere to in order to be truly terrifying.
I once when through a period where, whenever anyone would mention CLAMP, serious butt-kissing on my part would ensue. Even when someone was particularly venomous towards them and their work, I’d say something along the lines of “Aw, but, they’re not that bad.” Before quickly changing the subject, embarrassed by the lack of solid evidence I had to support this claim. This was largely due to the fact they created XXXHOLiC, a manga which was adapted into one of my all-time favourite shows.
