Hello, everybody! Let me apologise in advance for the brevity of today’s blog post. It’s the day after my 14-hour journey from the US to the UK and I am incredibly jetlagged! It feels like somebody has scooped out my brain and replaced it with marshmallow (conditions not conducive to producing quality content). That being said, I still wanted to jot down my thoughts on this week’s episode of Fruits Basket (incoherent though they might be)! Continue at your own peril…

I’d like to apologise for the brevity of today’s post. This week my husband and I closed on our first home! Since then, all of our free time has been spent resisting the urge to strangle each other as we attempt to put together an entire home’s worth of flatpack furniture. So, yeah, my brain is completely fried! It also doesn’t help that this week’s episode was probably the weakest so far. It wasn’t bad, per se, it just failed to bring anything new to the table… We didn’t meet any new characters, we didn’t learn anything new about the ones who we’ve already met, and there were no new developments in the story. That being said, it did endear me to poor, sweet Hatori…
Compared to last week’s dramatic episode, this week’s episode was much more uneventful. Sure, we got to meet two more of the Sohmas: Hatori and Momiji, but, at this point in the show, we still don’t know much about either of them. And, yes, we also got to see Yuki in a dress, which is cool, if you’re into that kind of thing… Aside from that, not a great deal happened. The main event was when Tohru’s two friends, Hana and Uo, invited themselves over to the Sohmas’ for the night. It may sound as though I’m complaining, but I actually like more relaxed episodes like this – you can’t run at 11 all of the time! Too much drama and it begins to feel forced, you know? And I enjoy seeing characters in all sorts of different scenarios, and that includes as they go about their day-to-day lives! Besides, given that this week’s episode was much more uneventful, and I don’t have a great deal to discuss and dissect, now may be a good opportunity to address the following burning question: Kyo vs. Yuki – who is currently in a better position to win Tohru’s heart?
Let’s review the evidence…
